Casselton




A thriving business town of some 600 inhabitants in the central part of Cass County, 8 miles from Fargo (court house), on the line of the N. P. Ry., at the point where the Fargo, Casselton and Northwestern branch diverges down the valley. There are Methodist and Presbyterian churches and a public school here, together with a number of handsome business houses. A large trade is done with the Red River Valley country to the north, south, and west of Casselton. The village has a machine shop and several mechanic shops, and wants a grist mill and newspaper. Exports, wheat, oats, and corn. Express, N. P. Ry. Stage to Amenia tri-weekly. Two mails daily. Edward T. Slingsby, postmaster.
